Free self-help Trauma & PTSD Checker Aotearoa Edition

Self-help Aotearoa edition. A simple self check and some ideas of how to and where to look for advice or help. PTSD is acquired from a lived experience – a real or perceived threat of danger, which may involve a possible loss of life. This is an important distinction over other mental health conditions. Up to 75% of us will experience an event that could trigger PTSD, 6% of us will develop symptoms of PTSD during our lifetime. It is most common amongst women (who are at twice the risk of experiencing PTSD), indigenous communities, refugees, military & veterans, first responders, victims of violent crimes and those who have experienced natural or man-made disaster.

PTSD & Trauma self help quiz

Kia ora

Before you start, this is a simple self-help tool. This does not provide a diagnosis or offer qualified advice. Purely self-help and referral to qualified sources of information, advice and help.

Welcome and thank you for taking some time to complete our informal, non diagnostic, self help PTSD & Trauma check. The idea behind this is to give you some tools and resources to get an idea, or self realization, of where your heads at and what might help with links to advice or help.

Some of the content may be confronting. You can exit at anytime by returning to the start of the quiz or any other part of the site via the menu. If the content is confronting we would encourage you to carry on to where you can get links to advice or help. We aren't here to antagonize or upset you, the aim is to help you help yourself or link you to advice or help.

The quiz is designed that your answer will lead you to a statement, links page, or another question relevant to the answer you gave.  Your answers dictate how long your session will be and where it takes you.

If you are here doing this for someone else, or to try and understand where they are at and what you do to help them, please be very careful. We would much rather, as we are sure they would, that you engage with them and suggest they do this themselves or with you.

If your doing this as a part of your Health Network Collective membership this course will show in your dashboard and you will be emailed your results and recommendations, if from the post of as a free course a pop up will appear asking for your email, fill it in and get a copy of your results recommendations and links emailed anonymously.
